The Brown County Art Guild exists to curate the best regional art of the past and to support the highest quality art of today. As a living gallery, we combine a rich historic collection with vibrant exhibitions from award-winning contemporary Guild artists.
Building on the area’s thriving art colony culture, several notable artists founded the Brown County Art Guild in 1954 to showcase the best art from the region. Many of these artists left key pieces of their work to the Guild, forming the foundation of our historic collection.
Award-winning artists apply to join the Guild, meeting rigorous criteria to attain this prestigious position. Guest artists display their art for a year, and the best are invited to join ongoing Guild exhibitions.
The Guild curates its valuable permanent collection, supports and showcases current Guild artists, and creates experiences for visiting patrons and enthusiasts of fine art in our community and region.
