Cariani\, along with Genevieve Goth Graf and Carl Graf\, were immeasurably connected as they journeyed through life.  All four encouraged one another in their painting pursuits\, particularly en plein air.  Each couple was aligned in their commitment to the growing arts movement in Brown County\, and their individual successes were undoubtedly attributed to the flourishing art colony as a whole.
