Monte Young

Monty’s pottery represents well-made traditional forms, focused on functionality and for daily use. His work offers rich earthy tones achieved by wood firing the pots in a cross-draft wood kiln at his studio in Southern Indiana. He loves the quote by Shoji Hamada, “Technique and skill must be absorbed, wrapped up and put away to become an integral part of yourself that will be revealed in your work without thought.”
